THE GUTTER BALL!
Gutter Ball is one of the sports we did you need to get the ball in to the bucket using half a pipe and that's the Gutter. if the ball falls to the ground you have to restart that's okay.
remember all ways use TEAM WORK!

MAP HOP!
Map hop is a puzzle game. it a puzzle of NEW ZEALAND!
not any puzzle a big puzzle.  you can not touch the green grass!

if you do you'll have to restart leave the puzzle pieces on the ground.
we have to hop along the price when we reach the little white flag, we have to start the puzzle when you finish restart it all over again.

BURST PIPE
Burst pipe is a watery games. 2 kids get a cone and fill it up with water
then you as the rest block the holes with the hands.
the 1 child poor it in the pipe if you can't block it long time
 it will BURST! out of the hole.

for Inquiry we're persuading someone to bye a sticky stick pal.

Have ever wanted your friends to feel jealous of you? Do you want to have that ultimate gift? Or are you wanting the one and a kind thing? Well I give you a 99% natural wood, 1% brain powered stick-tastic sticky stick. Did you know that a stick can entertain you, help you and keep you company.

Firstly sticks can entertain you by wobbling it on your head and nose. You could act like a clown (honk honk). Don’t forget Christmas is coming so get your stick now! You can flip the stick up and down. You could be surprised that you can wobble or flip the fantas-stick. You can play darts with your stick. Put some glue on the end of the stick and draw a target and throw the sticky stick and it might stick!

Secondly have you ever lost your fork before eating? Well you're in luck this stick can stab the stick-tastic sticky food. (stab stab stab). It’s just like picking up rubbish off the ground with this sticky stick also you can they keep you coosy warm like if you sick or cold! By flaming itself to make a fire. Don’t worry because you can get a new fantas-stick.

Last of all, are you bored? Well this stick is 1% brain power. Use it as a toy, play with your ultimate sticky stick, Your stick can help you act out plays. If you're sad they take care of you by keeping you warm, If you short is ripped a strong small stick will do. Put the stick throw a hole it should go past the rip out another hole and must hold.

Overall I think you should get a stick-tastic sticky pal because you can be Entertained, Helped and keeped company. So  hurry in for a stick-tastic sticky pal now! They are only 50c each! But 1 or 2 sticks are free! :D

Cat Tastrphe

We have been learning how to write persuasive piece of writing. We had to convince  Miss McLeod to ether get a Cat or dog. I chose to persuade Miss McLeod to get a cat. 
This is my persuasive writing. I had to use persuasive words and phases that we're  convincing. 
I enjoyed persuading Miss McLeod.
I learned How to find the persuasive word.

• The correct structure of a persuasive text including an introduction, with a hook and your opinion, 3 body paragraphs and a conclusion.
• Persuasive vocabulary and phrases that convince people
• The reasons why with supporting ideas

It’s Miss Mcleod's last chance to get a cat because they are they are cheap save money and did you Know cats are the easiest to look after?.

Firstly  miss mcleod should get a cat because they clean themselves up so you don’t need to clean them. And cats have sharp strong paws for climbing and hunting for food And they give you presents, the presents are a mice or a bird.

Cats are the most fluffiest animals in NZ so far. I meet one of my cat youngest cousin. And she is the fluffiest Kitten I’ve meet.

And she’s funny and cute.

Secondly, Miss McLeod should get a cat because they have strong paws and They use their strong paws to climb trees if a dog is chasing them. And cats use their paws to hunt for food when they are outside. They hunt mice and birds. And they keep mice out of the house and they like to climb and they

have brilliant balance because their sharp paws. They look crazy after a shave!

Did you know they are really good climbers because of their paws and claws?

Finally, Miss mcleod should get a cat because they take care of themselves. They lick themselves up so they are clean before you get home. Instead of cleaning their poop it's useful because they  poop outside then cover their poop up. And they don’t eat much then dogs. Miss mcleod can really save money isn't it great not have to use a 50 dollar bill.

Overall I think Miss mcleod should get a cat tastic friend because they take care of themselves by pooping outdoors and cleaning themselves before you  get home.

Medianas Multiplication and Division Word Problems

Andrew is having his friends over for game night. So he decided to prepare the snacks and the games.

1.He started by making mini sandwiches. If he has 4 friends coming over and he made 3 sandwiches for each one of them, how many sandwiches did he make in total?

Answers- Show all of your workings out Sandwich 3 times kids 4 = 12

2. He also made some juice from fresh oranges. If he used 2 oranges per glass of juice and he made 6 glasses of juice, how many oranges did he use?

Answers- Show all of your workings out Oranges 2 times kids 4 = 8 cups for each friend to have 2 drinks each

3. Then he started to prepare the games. If each game takes 5 minutes to prepare and he prepared a total of 5 games, how many minutes did it take for Andrew to prepare all the games?

Answers- Show all of your workings out Games 5 times minutes 5 = 25 minutes

4. Andrew’s 4 friends decided to bring food as well. If each of them brought 4 slices of pizza, how many slices of pizza do they have in total?

Answers- Show all of your workings out Pizza 4 times kids 4 = 16

5. Lastly, Andrew tried to compute his expenses for the game night. If he spent $9.00 for each game they played and they played a total of 5 games, how much money did he spend that night?

After New family’s move to Hornby we offer your children to came to South Hornby School for fun learning a special days upon the week. We have lot’s of special days, there are: pj day, hot dog day, pizza day, book character day, mufti day and camp.

Camp   

is only for year 5 and 6, we only do camp once a year in December.  

We stay at school camp for less than a week so our family’s don’t miss you.

You need to pay!!!!

On camp we have fun playing games out in the open and we stay with the teachers.

We have our own place to live in.

We love camping!!

book character day, mufti day

is another day that we pays to wear clothes like a holiday.

You can wear t shirts, pants and jackets or you can Dress up as a pirate or a witch and you need to pay as well.

Today the 2nd September we’re in mufty you have to pay about 2$ to wear mufti if you don’t have money you stay in your school uniform!!

But don’t worry there’s another mufti day coming up in a some months.

Pj day

is a day that you need to be in you pj’s for the day you can be in your wunzy and you need to pay too.

This year for pj day I wear my bunny wunzy it’s so cute and soft but I never take it off because it’s to warm.

Pizza day and hot dog day

is a yummy time for lunch because you pay to get hot dog and pizza they are the special lunches.

You have to pay 2$ for 1 sausage and 1 $ for a drink.

The hot dog or pizza day notes  came out before that day.

In space there was a hot star that is ready to Explode. There are 4 small stories of each in the star Explosion to the star life will came to a end.

(1)First the star was hot!! The little Red bubbly flames tried to break out. I know the inside is creating the mini Explodens adding them together to make a BIG EXPLODE. What does it look like from Earth?

(2)   The star looks a little more hotter and peace of the star are getting hotter and bright. The core is pushing out, the heat is going to make it Explode. When will the star Explode?

(3)   It might be ready to Explode,brighter and brighter it goes. It slowly breaths really hard. Looks like it will blow out the place. And I’ve been wondering how long do stars live?

(4)   BOOM their goes the Exploding star but but is that the star is it still alive?  YES it’s alive but it’s been boiled because it’s blue wow it’s growing now it’s a big blue star. How long do they life.                           

Lemon Experience

I was dreading to taste a yellow lemon. I’ve not tasted a lemon before. I stood in line to get a lemon, to taste it.  When I had a lemon on the mat I smelled it close to my nose, died dirty dry eggs. When I tasted a lemon it felt like my tongue was on the burnt corners, I tried to stay calm, when the experience happened to exploded in my spicy mouth. It’s just like peppermint but spicy. It’s was not sweet, it went into my sole. Then I said NO MORE for me and It makes me feel so sick. After we tasted the lemon the teachers took a photo of the faces of all the kids.

Autumn

Attempt 1: The weather gets colder because winter is coming. Leaves fall off the trees because the leave the trees get more leaves. The sun comes up later because we get longer night & shorter days. The clouds go over the sun because we get more wind. What do you say when you hear sleep? Because animals hibernate. Colourful leaves fall off all over.

Attempt :2 The weather is chilly every day because winter is a  freezer with ice in it. The colourful leaves fall off the tall trees because The colourful leave fall off & die on the cold hard ground. The white  fluffy woolly clouds goes over the heated sun because the wind blows away the sun a little bit. We get shorter daylight savings and longer, nights save the world. What do you say when you hear sleep? Because animals sleep in winter to stay warm it’s called hibernation for winters weather. Poor leave die and let go of the tree all on the ground & beautiful people rake up the leaves so you can see the path.

Attempt :3 Autumn is a beautiful season to play in the leaves because all the beautiful leaves are like a rainbow entered your life. As They fall into the freezer and lock the leafy leaves in there. They are dead by winter because the windy fans is coming closer & closer. But the tree is for 2-3 months lonely until spring comes and the tree gets lucky to get new leaves in spring. The leaves jump of the strawberries with cream.

Monday 29 February

Spencer Park Trip

On Friday 26th of February all the Senior Syndicate went on a trip, To spencer park to play with each other and have fun. We had a small meeting to talk about safety and we left at 10 past 9.

First the senior syndicate had something to eat then we was allowed to play. Me and Kristie went straight for the spider web. I swing from rope to rope over the rope bridge then I went  straight for the top.

I felt a little afraid of being up high

because I felt like it will fall down or I’ll chirp up.

next I went to the donut, kids on the donut was Me, Jesmer, Kristie, Lucas and Seini.

Jesmer pushed the donut around, then I came off and helped Jesmer push and Kristie helped to. Then I went to the octopus I went in circles but it was slow because no one was really pushing. after that I went back to the donut for a little bit then I went back to the spider web then we had lunch. then we walked to the beach. we had a hole challenge to go into gropes then dig a deep hole for miss mcguinniety to stead in. Then we had to go to mrs raisin for the next challenge. To make a hero in the sand using things around you like seaweed, sticks and more. we walked back to the bus and went back to School
